Julie Gale, Cooking Instructor
In 2001, after working as a social worker advising parents through the special education process, Julie followed her life-long passion for cooking and opened her own cooking school in Westchester, New York. She authored a cooking column in the Larchmont Gazette for several years and co-authored the children’s cookbook,I Want to Cook. In January 2010, Julie opened At the Kitchen Table Cooking School in a brand new teaching kitchen in Hillsdale, New York. In addition to private and group lessons Julie caters small events such as wedding rehearsal dinners, anniversary celebrations and private cooking parties. Julie is writing a book of memoirs and recipes.
Julie has been the Retreat Chef for the Won Dharma Retreat Center in Claverack, New York preparing vegetarian Korean and International Cuisine for visiting groups. Julie has also been the Culinary Arts teacher for high school seniors at Hawthorne Valley Waldorf High School in Harlemville, New York. She is also a cooking instructor at Olana in Hudson, New York and The Chef's Shop in Great Barrington, Mass.
